I came across Pip in September last year after an exhausting two to three years of trying to navigate peri-menopause at 46. I was told that my constant bloating, constipation, low iron, hormonal weight gain, and fluid retention were all normal for me. I was recommended long-term laxatives by the specialist, and because I wasn’t coeliac, I was told to re-introduce gluten and dairy, despite knowing my body was inflamed and reacting to these and other foods I had never had an issue with before.
I had had three iron infusions over two years, every test possible to find out why I couldn’t store iron, and why I was chronically bloated and constipated despite eating 25-30g+ of fibre per day, drinking 4L+ of water daily, eating healthy, and exercising daily. I had been on HRT for around two years, which was amazing (a total game-changer for women!), but I still struggled with low energy, inflammation, joint pain, really poor sleep, feeling puffy, always bloated, skin issues, and just not myself.
Determined not to give up, I found Pip.
After just one visit, it was as if Pip knew exactly what to do without even having any test results to go on. She ran the functional testing and started me on a pretty intense supplement programme. She stopped all my other supplements and vitamins (thousands of dollars wasted, and they were making my poor body work harder!).
Pip introduced me to a low histamine diet immediately, and the results were amazing. I lost 1kg per week for the first three weeks - 3kg of pure inflammation! Weight loss wasn’t my goal, as I’ve always been relatively small, so I kept my calories high (around 1800-1900/day) and just focused on reducing the foods that, although healthy, were causing me inflammation. I was more than happy to lose the puffiness though!
Functional test results showed high cortisol, leaky gut, and oestrogen dominance (not due to HRT, but because my detox pathways were blocked as my liver and gallbladder needed support to function properly and clear the oestrogen and other toxins in my system). I also had low progesterone and not surprisingly was highly reactive to gluten! I had no bad bacteria or pathogens in my gut, which was amazing considering how gut-healthy ficuses I already was! However, I didn’t have enough good gut bacteria to make a difference. Probiotics always made my bloating worse!
With a few more supplements and a strict gluten, dairy, and sugar-free diet alongside the low histamine diet, I experienced what honestly felt like a miracle! No more bloating, and I went to the toilet daily like clockwork for the first time in my life! I lost almost 6kg of inflammation in 8 weeks, slept 8 hours a night, sweated (my body had begun to detox again!), and felt like my old self.
It was honestly such an amazing 10-12-week journey. I literally cried and hugged Pip after I had my first ever week of no bloating and good sleep! It was truly a life-changing week for me. Something I will never forget and always be grateful for.
Now, almost 4 months on, I’ve started to come off most of the supplements, enjoy a very normal diet again (still gluten-free for now), and the inflammation and bloating have not returned. I honestly can’t believe I got through Christmas with so much yummy food, chocolate, and champagne and no bloating whatsoever.

Just wanted to say thank you for the inclusion in the stripped program, I actually really enjoyed it (even though I had the flu from day 6 (so no exercise). I did not find it daunting or as difficult as I expected, maybe as I am used to the style of eating your programs provide. I especially liked the inclusion of the food list and table if not following recipe to a T.
So the results are in. If measured by loss I'd say pretty successful, I was definitely more squishy than I am comfortable with. I lost just under 5 kilos total and 5 cm from my belly button section waist. I’m actually pretty excited about it and will continue on a few more days.
I just wanted to overall thank you and say; while I know you are not reinventing the wheel in relation to weight loss / management, and health and well being, we all know what we should be doing in theory - we don’t actually really know in reality. What you do do is package it so perfectly for an ‘everywoman’ with no idea where to start, to follow and maintain a clean and delicious diet to experience results without the threat of excessive exercise being necessary, and the opportunity to mentally change ingrained habits and offer a different approach to food and healthy choices that can be maintained.

I met Pip in November last year having returned from a trip to New York, newly engaged and desperately needing some guidance. After a long battle with illness and medication, I had gained some weight and, although I was so excited to start planning my wedding, the idea of shopping for my dress filled me with dread. Just wanted to say a massive thank you for hosting Feb Fast for us. I normally consider myself a doubter when it comes to things like this with the typical attitude of "I'll just burn that burger off at the gym tomorrow" but I honestly didn't think it would have the effect it did. After waking up exhausted each and every morning, before I had even got out of bed & a 30kg weight gain, I knew there was no better time.
I had had three babies in three and a half years and to say it took a toll on my body, is no understatement. Pip Reed is my lovely secret weapon! I started seeing Pip in December 2014 when my health had crashed, weight wouldn’t shift and my wedding was 9 months away.
I have struggled with losing weight for years despite seeing doctors, endocrinologists and other nutritionists.
